WHAT IS ULTHERAPY?

Ultherapy is the only US FDA-approved device for non-invasive lifting of the face. It combines focused ultrasound with real-time imaging of the facial tissues to allow us to visualise and accurately target layers which support the facial skin.

WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF ULTHERAPY?

Ulthera effectively lifts, tightens and contours skin and its supporting layers. It combats ageing specifically by reducing laxity and sagging.

With Ultherapy, you can effectively lift and renew your skin from within, sans surgery.

WHICH AREAS CAN BE TREATED WITH ULTHERAPY?

Ulthera is most commonly used to treat the face and neck regions, although it is also effective for tightening and lifting skin around the arms, legs, tummy and breast areas.

WHICH PROBLEMS ARE COMMONLY TREATED WITH ULTHERAPY?

  • Heavy brows
  • Hooded upper eyelids
  • Crow’s feet
  • Mild eyebags
  • Drooping cheeks
  • Jowls
  • Deep folds around the mouth eg. nasolabial folds and marionette lines
  • “Turkey” (saggy) necks

HOW DOES ULTHERAPY WORK?

The smooth Ulthera ultrasound applicator is placed on your face. This allows us to actually see the layers of skin and its underlying support. Ultrasonic waves are focused at precise depths to produce a heating effect, leaving the surface of your skin unharmed. Your skin’s response to the energy is to tighten and lift slightly right away. Over the following weeks, new collagen forms in the treated areas resulting in more dramatic lifting, tightening and contouring.

HOW LONG IS THE ULTHERAPY PROCEDURE?

The cosmetic procedure itself takes 30 to 45 minutes to complete.

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED?

Official Ulthera protocols generally require a single session to produce results.

HOW LONG DOES THE RESULT LAST?

The new collagen which grows as a result of the procedure stays with you only to be lost through the natural ageing process. It is estimated that you will look as you did before the treatment after 2 years.

HOW LONG IS THE RECOVERY TIME?

There is virtually no recovery time with most patients returning to work immediately after.
