Asians frequently suffer from prominent epicanthic folds, which are the folds of skin covering the inner corner of the eyes. Moreover, a lower nasal bridge can accentuate epicanthic folds, which are also known as Mongolian folds. An Epicanthoplasty is a surgical cosmetic procedure to remove these unsightly fierce-looking folds of the eyelid skin, achieving a more symmetrical, young and vibrant look.
Dr Colin Tham is a consultant plastic surgeon in private practice here in Singapore. He is also accredited and recognized as a specialist reconstructive and plastic surgeon by Singapore’s Ministry of Health.
Cosmetic Surgeon Dr Tham obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1992. He then proceeded to undergo Basic and Advanced Specialist Training in Plastic Surgery at Singapore General Hospital, and was subsequently admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Ireland) in 1999.
